Who We Are

We are a physician-led consulting and education service dedicated to helping primary care practices, residency programs, and health systems successfully adopt handheld ultrasound technology. Our approach is grounded in clinical experience, educational excellence, and a deep commitment to patient-centered care.

Why We Exist

Too often, handheld ultrasound is introduced into primary care with minimal support — a device drop-off, a rushed demo, or a one-time course. This approach rarely leads to sustained adoption or clinical integration.
We created this consulting and training service to solve that problem.
Our mission is to bridge the gap between handheld technology and real-world use. We help providers integrate POCUS into their own workflows, patient populations, and documentation systems — ensuring the benefits of ultrasound are actually realized in practice.

Meet Dr. David Killeen, M.D., M.Ed.

Founder & Clinical Ultrasound Educator
Dr. David Killeen brings a unique blend of clinical practice, academic rigor, and cross-cultural educational experience to his work in point-of-care ultrasound.

During college David worked as an EMT at a busy rescue squad, gaining valve insight into the importance of timely medical care. After completing a Master’s degree in Bilingual and Multicultural Education from La Universidad de Alcalá de Henares in Madrid, Spain, Dr. Killeen began his professional life as a classroom teacher. His passion for education and service ultimately led him to medicine, where he received his MD from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in Richmond, VA.

He completed his Family Medicine residency at New York Presbyterian – Columbia University, where he developed a deep interest in clinical ultrasound. This interest led
him to pursue a competitive fellowship in Clinical Ultrasound at the University of Pennsylvania — becoming the first family medicine fellow at Penn to work across both inpatient and outpatient settings, teaching medical students, residents and attendings across specialties.

Dr. Killeen has since become a nationally recognized advocate for expanding POCUS access, particularly in primary care and underserved communities. He currently practices at a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), where he developed and leads an in-house ultrasound program designed to serve as a scalable model for similar clinics nationwide.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Killeen is a dedicated educator. He has trained medical students, residents, and attending physicians across the U.S. and internationally, with teaching experience in Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Spain, and along the U.S.-Mexico border.

Our Mission

To equip healthcare professionals with the skills, tools, and confidence to bring point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) into everyday patient care — improving access, diagnostic accuracy, and clinical outcomes across diverse settings.

Our Vision

We believe handheld ultrasound is not a niche tool — it’s a clinical skill that belongs in the hands of every frontline provider.

Our vision is a future where primary care physicians across the globe confidently use ultrasound to:

  • Make faster, more informed clinical decisions
  • Improve trust and transparency with patients
  • Reduce unnecessary testing and referrals
  • Deliver high-quality care regardless of geography or patient population

What Makes Us Different

Tailored for Primary Care

We specialize in working with family physicians, internists,
and urgent care providers — not just emergency or hospital-based clinicians. Our training reflects the conditions, patient conversations, and time constraints that primary care providers face every day.

Commitment to Equity

We believe handheld ultrasound has the power to improve care for traditionally underserved populations. Our work supports practices across rural, community, and safety-net settings where access to imaging is limited — and where the impact of POCUS can be most profound.

Real-World Experience

We don’t teach from slides alone. Dr. Killeen actively uses handheld ultrasound in his day-to-day practice and understands the clinical, logistical, and reimbursement challenges firsthand.

Academic Rigor with Practical Insight

With a background in both education and clinical ultrasound, our teaching is clear, evidence-based, and tailored to adult learners. We emphasize skill-building, image interpretation, and clinical reasoning — not just knobology.

Full-Spectrum Support

From initial device selection to clinical documentation and billing, we offer end-to-end guidance. We’re not just a training service — we’re a long-term partner in building POCUS capacity within your organization.

Let’s Build Something Together

Whether you’re just exploring handheld ultrasound or already have a device and need help getting the most from it, we’re here to help. Every training and consulting engagement is customized to fit your needs — your schedule, your clinic flow, and your goals.
